Our store
The New Dairy Queen® of Barrie at Yonge St is locally owned and family operated.

A little of history about the Dairy Queen system
The first "Dairy Queen" opened in 1940 in Joliet, Illinois, USA and the first store in Canada opened in 1953. Today there are over 5900 Dairy Queens in the United States, Canada and 20 foreign countries.
Starting with an initial menu of frozen dairy products, on 1957 the Dairy Queen/Brazier concept is introduced with Hamburguers and Hot Dogs being added to the menu at some outlets in Georgia.

Team profiles
Mr. Larry Fletcher
Larry is one of the founders of the Dairy Queen and he is running practically with everything. You could see him day and night showing up at the store. |
Larry with webmaster Carlos from Cuba |
He could be replacing temporarily a sick employee, helping others, running for errands, doing the books, etc. A retired with honors, Canadian Coastguard, Larry decided it was not yet time for him to enjoy a retirement life and together with his lovely wife started this daring venture.
|
Mrs. Marie Fletcher
Marie, also a co-founder of the Dairy Queen store, is a full of energy woman always attentive to the store daily operations. She does the supervisor job sometimes. |
Marie with DQ cake decorator Li |
Treating co-workers as part of the family has earned a reputation as the Dairy Queen mother. Nothing else could be said of Marie without falling into the trap of flattering too much an otherwise wonderful and virtuous woman.
|
Mrs. Cheryl Malmstrom
With Cheryl is as the saying goes "Like mother, like daughter". She shares her time looking after her children and husband and the store. |
Cheryl with husband Kai |
Can we say anything else ? Well, yes, she will run the store all by herself pretty soon and will carry all the burden of the work. We wish her luck!
